Tess thought it was a magic wand.

We learned that Japanese people traditionally sleep on a ふとん-futon –
a thick quilt which is folded up and put away every morning.

Our Mystery Object is a ふとんたたき -futon tataki.
Every week we hang our futon over the balcony and
beat out the dust with a futon tataki.

We had a lot of fun making mini futon and mini futon tataki !
